For the thousands of British Jews who fought Nazism and fascism in the Second World War, the shock of returning to Britain was to be a great one. Instead of being welcomed home as heroes many were faced with the growing problem of anti-Semitism.
The leader of the British fascists, Sir Oswald Mosley - who had been imprisoned during the war as a potential traitor - was preaching hate and violence towards Jews: innocent people were being viciously attacked.
To counter the fascists, a group of over 100 Jewish war veterans formed "The 43 Group". They infiltrated the highest echelons of the fascists and with the information gained they were able to outsmart them and hit them with surprise attacks.
Within four years of forming, The 43 Group had succeeded in removing Mosley and his fascists from the streets of Britain.
With anti-Semitism a growing problem in today's Europe this film has particular relevance to a continent that seems to have forgotten its torrid past.
